Foggy Haiku

Warm spring interlude
in winter; fog flowing from
the river; around buildings

Walking through fog along the river this morning, there were clear spots where buildings had blocked the flow. In empty spaces, the fog had oozed over the river’s banks, and past the buildings into the street. It as if the buildings were the teeth of some giant comb, sticking up through the fog (having stopped mid-motion while combing out the tendrils).

Foggy River

Foggy river on an abnormally warm winter’s morning.
